Our clients were looking to not only reconfigure the layout of their kitchen, dining room and den, but also wanted to add style and fun to a home that previously had little character. The existing areas were completely gutted, walls and windows were repositioned, and the new floorplan improved the function of all spaces for our clients and their family. Avoiding the expense of additions allowed the budget for finishes and fixtures to be increased, giving us the ability to specify such details as wide doorways with romantic heavy trim, a Dutch door for additional light from the side yard, rich stone countertops and backsplash tile, and interesting lighting fixtures. Several design elements now lend new character to the home. Layers of Traditional style trim are added around doorways and windows. Rich colors are used, adding the boldness of Contemporary styling and the stature of Traditional richness.
To compliment the Traditional elements, a patina is added to the kitchen. Antiqued stone tile at the floor and the splash areas add depth and classic beauty. The cabinets are textured for a sense of age and softness.

The cabinets and folding top match the kitchen for a sense of finish and continuity. A utility sink doubles as a Doggie-spa. The epitome of charm and personality is found with bright toile wallpaper and new window treatments. Why feel drab when washing your linens?
