It’s not technically spring, but who has time to wait for a season just to get cleaning done? We certainly don’t. So, we thought we’d take a jump forward and give you some of our favorite deep cleaning ideas:
Clean out your gutters
Build up in your gutters can cause water to pool on your roof and create leaks and other damage to your home.
Gloves (latex and work gloves)
Closed toe, rubber soled shoes
2 Buckets with ladder hooks
Hose with nozzle
What you do:
Wait for a few dry days in a row. Set the ladder up on solid, level ground. Take out large debris by hand and use the trowel to take out any additional debris. Spray out anything that remains in the gutter using a hose and spraying from the end opposite the downspout.

Clean your air conditioning coils
Cleaning your air conditioning unit can prolong its lifespan and save you money on early repairs.
Bucket or trash bag
Hose with an adjustable nozzle
What you do:
Turn off the power to your air conditioning unit. Clean out any large debris and spray the unit down with a hose at a low setting. Avoid spraying the fan motor. Then spray the unit from the outside. Once you are done cleaning the unit, remember to turn the power back on.

Clean your dishwasher
Even though a dishwasher is supposed to be there cleaning for you, it needs a bath once in a while too.
Plain white vinegar
Several clean rags
What you do:
Clean the door of your dishwasher with warm, sudsy water and a rag. Then open the door and get into the top and sides with a toothbrush. Wipe off any resultant grime with a rag dipped in the sudsy water. Wipe away any cleaning solution left behind with a clean, wet rag.
Next, wipe out any debris from the base of the dishwasher - most likely they will be around the drain. Then, set a dishwasher-safe cup of plain white vinegar on the top rack. Run a full cycle with the hottest water choice possible. Once the cycle is complete, wipe out the inside with a clean, dry rag.
Finally, pull out racks and utensil holders. Wipe them off. Use a soft toothbrush to scrub the spray arm of your dishwasher.
Other fun tips for spring cleaning
Cleaning products often don’t get to work immediately. You can sometimes let them sit on an area and allow them to do their work - then return to the area to scrub, rinse, and dry.
You can use floss to get into hard to reach places… throughout your home. Seriously. Try using floss to loosen grime around the base of faucets and handles.
Use water and vinegar as a food safe cleaner for areas like the refrigerator.
If you have stuck-on grime in your microwave, set a microwave-safe cup of water in there and cook it until it begins to boil. The steam will help loosen the grime.
Here’s hoping your home is bright and beautiful this spring!
