Menlo Park March 2011
This is a great example of a client on a tight budget who wanted a dramatic change. Diane wanted to completely open up her kitchen for a feeling of spaciousness in her 1800 square foot home, and she wanted to get the big challenges out of the way. She plans to do more work on her home but her plan was to phase it in order to control expense, as well as the impact that a major remodel can have on life-style -particularly in a small home. Diane is very smart though. She realized she could save money on ‘window-dressing’ now, by reusing her cabinets and appliances. These two items can be changed out later without much issue so that she could invest her budget in the harder part now… like removing walls, installing hardwood floors, and stretching for the pieces that really make an impact at the end of the day. These days, every time Diane walks in her front door she is dramatically greeted by stunning marble counter-tops that say, “Darling, it must have been difficult for you to stay away all day, because I am so gorgeous that I spent the entire day remarking on it. Never mind. Welcome home, Darling!” -
Hillsborough Heaven 2009
CLICK on Picture for the Full View. This is the first phase of a two phase project. This home is in Hillsborough and because it is such an extensive remodel, it is even more important to stay on budget. This couple came to us two years ago wanting to do a complete renovation of their simple rancher. They didn’t want to draw undue attention to their home by focusing too much on the exterior; but the back yard and pool area would also be updated. The second phase is currently under way and is very near completion. We will add that photo-shoot above this one once we do it. -
